This new orchestration of Bonn Pictures,requested by the Radcliffe Orchestra for its forthcoming performance, will suit more orchestras than the original orchestration (which starred the unusually large clarinet section of the St. Giles Orchestra, for whom the suite was written.)
Daybreak on Venusberg evokes the woodlands above Bonn, where first we hear twigs and leaves crackling underfoot in the first glimmers of daylight and then more and more features of the woods come into view as the sun rises.
