Rebikov deserves to be better known. Although this piece is fairly conventional in style, it shows his use of unresolved 7ths and minimalism. He innovated such techniques as whole-tone scale, polytonality & extensive use of 7th and 9th harmonies well before they became common in French Impressionism, and was a minimalist generations before the term was coined. Difficulty: advanced elementary to early intermediate.
