"Goin Home", the spiritual based on the Second Movement of Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9 ("From the New World") has often been requested at funerals. It is probably second only to "Amazing Grace" for that solemn occasion. This arrangement of the entire second movement, although written in the easier key of D Major, remains faithful as much as possible to the original orchestral parts, save where the parts must be rewritten to cover missing instruments. I have another arrangement of this same piece posted in the original key of Db Major. If you enjoy this, visit my website at: http://members.sibeliusmusic.com/jjacklich/ to find other arrangements for string quartet/string orchestra.
