I started sketching this composition back in 2004, as an attempt to meld the classical style of Mozart with the ragtime style of Scott Joplin. I started working on it in earnest in 2009 after finishing up several other things, and finally finished this movement in early 2010 and submitted it as my thesis composition for a Master's of Music at the University of Idaho.
