Conflictions, as the title suggests, is a study in disagreement. Beginning with a regal fanfare representing all that is good and right in the world, the harmonies and rhythms gradually break down into a more realistic picture of life. Eventually, sleazy and almost cliched melodies fight for control and eventually take their toll on the work's spirit leaving it battered and broken. However, life goes on in steady, pulsing growth building to the return of the opening fanfare, signifying hope and forgiveness.
