Context of the lyrics were taken from a historical event in the history of Tonga, namely the dedication and offering of Tonga to the Almighty God for his protection and guidance, by HM the Late King George Tupou I of Tonga. I dedicate this work to my great great grand father the Rev Pita Vi, who had been one of the key supporter, and a very colleague of the King, during this dark era of our history. Rev Pita Vi aided the King in the process of destroying heathens, and the conversion of Tonga to Christianity.
