Cat Walk, for a sextet, has, in my opinion, a kind of 1950’s avant-garde flavor to it. The piece provides an opportunity for the instruments to trade solos throughout. The idea came to me from a family of cats that have been visiting my backyard each day. Watching the kittens play with one another is hilarious and what gave me the name for this composition.
