Ein heute leider selten gesungenes Lied, welches zur Bekehrung zu Gott aufruft und gleichzeitig die aufrüttelnde Botschaft aufzeigt, dass es ein "Zu spät" und ein "Beinah" geben kann.
Das Lied ist gesetzt für SATB a cappella. Das Arrangement entwickelt die Dramatik hin zur dritten Strophe, nachdem die Hinwendung zu Gott immer weiter aufgeschoben wird. Diese ist in Moll gesetzt, da bereits das "Zu spät" naht. Am Ende folgt noch ein letzter, dringlicher Ruf zur Umkehr zu Gott.
