"Extraño": raro, singular. Estas cuatro piezas llenas de ironía contienen impresiones y sonoridades evocadoras de la guitarra. La primera de las cuatro juega con los modos dórico y lidio en dos secciones bien diferenciadas. Una "gymnopedia" era una danza griega lenta en ritmo ternario. La segunda pieza traslada a la guitarra esta danza al estilo del "singular" compositor Eric Satie . La tercera explota los múltiples efectos tímbricos de la guitarra (percusiones en la caja, sonidos "siflé", pizzicatos, tambora, armónicos, glissandos, etc.). Por último, la "Toccata doméstica" cierra la obra mostrando el virtuosismo de la guitarra con sonoridades de acordes por cuartas.
Al escribir estas cuatro piezas he querido cautivar tanto al joven intérprete de guitarra como al oyente con sus modernas sonoridades, reflejando todo lo extravagante y raro, por único e irrepetible que es el hecho musical.
