Not strictly tonal or atonal, this piece is probably my favourite one that I've written. The mechanical sections require expression that will not become too jarring or horrific, but maintain the tension. The latter parts make a fine exercise in chord management. Pedal touch is light but plays a significant part throughout.
The final and closing sections need to remain triumphant and unified each time.
There is scope for significantly personalised interpretation of this piece.
