The Baltic SeaDuration: ab. 10 min.The purpose of Violin Friends is to inspire beginning string students and to give them a lot of joy with music.The music of Sea Scenery has been inspired by the vast Baltic Sea between Finland and Sweden, the foggy sea at sunrise by Seurasaari Island in Finland and the waters around eastern Helsinki. The music has been premiered by the Allegros String Quartet in the Suomenlinna Church (Kirkko Soikoon Festival 2004) and the Chamber Orchestra of The Northwestern Music Institute of Helsinki (2010).The series of Violin Friends consist of Violin and Viola Friends 1A, 1B and 2, Eight String Trios, 11 Children’s Songs arr. for Piano Quintet, 12 Variations of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star by Mozart arr. for Piano Quartet and Sea Scenery for String Quartet.The series has been published with the help of Musiikin Edistämissäätiö, Oskar Öflunds Stiftelse and Längmanska Kulturfonden.
