I. Entrata - Allegro assai, II. Nenia - Andante, III. Finale - Vivace.

The three-piece work "Homage to Horns" is built in line of arch with top reversed down. It starts by Entrata with exultant expression which gradually fades away, till it comes to the second part meditative Nenia. In the final movement the music again increases in energy, as if it aimed at the view of open horizon. The work is dedicated in memoriam to prof. Alois Čoček. The texture of the composition is rather unusual, musical elements transfer from voice to voice. It can slightly suggest distant historic practice in proverbial Russian horn orchestra called "rogovaja muzika". But that changing of instruments had another reason: The natural horn did not allow playing in whole chromatic scale. That’s why in the band there were instruments with various fundamental tuning whose single tones could be combined as needed.

Třívětá kompozice "Pocta hornám" probíhá v linii oblouku obráceného vrcholem dolů. Zahajuje intrádou, jejíž jásavý výraz postupně pohasíná, až vplyne do druhé části - meditativní nénie. Ve finální větě pak hudba znovu nabývá energie, jako by se snažila nalézt výhled k otevřenému obzoru. Skladba je věnována in memoriam prof. Aloisi Čočkovi. Jistou zvláštností skladby je její textura, charakteristická přecházením jednotlivých hudebních prvků z hlasu do hlasu. Vzdáleně to může připomenout dávnou historickou praxi pověstného ruského orchestru rohů, zvaného "rogovaja muzika". Střídání nástrojů tu mělo ovšem jiný důvod: Přirozený roh neumožňoval hru v celé chromatické škále. Soubor proto tvořilo více nástrojů různého ladění, jejichž jednotlivé tóny bylo možné podle potřeby kombinovat.

Which method of viewing music should I use?

Score Exchange has two methods of display previews of music: seView which uses regular html and javascipt and the Scorch plug-in from Avid which needs to be downloaded and installed onto your computer. Both have advantages and disadvantages:

seView

seView, is the most compatible option. You should be able to view music on all modern web browsers including most mobile devices. Even if your device does not support javascript you should still be able to preview at least page one of the music.

You do not need to install any additional software to use seView.

Scorch
