I love the sound of the Flute as a solo instrument; it has an ethereal quality that really captures a romantic dreaminess which I adore. Cheekpoint - in case you were wondering - is in the South of Ireland and overlooks where three rivers flow out to the sea. It has special associations for my wife and I and the inspiration for this piece came from us sitting outside the hotel, sipping cold champagne watching the sun recede over the rim of the sea’s horizon.
