ELEGY is an English setting of the Stabat Mater for soprano solo, chorus and organ. It uses text by the 14th century friar, Jacopone, da Todi in a translation by the 19th century hymn writer Edward Caswall.

The Stabat Mater is an ancient Christian hymn to Mary that portrays her suffering as Jesus Christ's mother during his crucifixion. Elegy could therefore be used within the context of Easter services or sung out of context in concert performance.

Duration: ca. 20 mins
