The opening movement consists of five little fugues based on the lydian-augmented scale. The slower middle movement provides a suitable contrast to the rhythmic intensity of the outer movements. The final movement relies on Bartokian tonal axes for much of its organization within the context of a compound ternary form.
The MP3 recording is a realization by the Kontakt player, but please download it if you have a sufficiently fast Internet connection. It is far superior to a MIDI realization.
