Currently having series of seminars from John White about music theatre. This is what his first session inspired me to write.
It's based on the prime numbers 1,2,3,5,7,11,13,17,19 & 23. They are present in the initial rhythm of the piece as they count off the semi-quavers, in an eight bit binary form and in the melodic and chord structures.
Hopefully, the piece isn't as dry as it sounds.
