'Mutations 1' was written to be performed during the opening of an A-Level seminar on genetic modification held at Furze Platt Senior School. The piece is a minimalist composition based on Rileys In C. I adapted and re-composed the piece so it had not only my own fingerprint on, but also so that it could be performed in the classroom by amateur keyboard and percussion players. I do not feel that much needs to be said here in regard to the mechanics of the piece, instead read the instructions on the second page of the score. DO NOT try to use the Sibelius playback with this piece; instead, download the midi file which given a single performance. Take into account that every performance will be different.
