This is the first piece in a suite meant to be performed for children. I decided to use instruments that I think have had a "bad deal", historically, when it comes to a having a solo/chamber repertoire to choose from. As the pianist is relegated to either playing annoying piano transcriptions of the concerti for them, or is rather subserviant as an accompanist, my wish is to attempt to redress the balance slightly.

Some of these pieces are more difficult to play than others for the instrumentalists, but could be used by accomplished students in music school too.
