The Composer felt the mood of this unpunctuated poem suggest starting in a major key but ending in a major key. He visualises the face of the moon. He uses G minor to Bb major. Study of thislovely atmospheric poem suggests a creating slow-moving melody with a limited range for Medium Voice. Rhythymic passages often are legitimatey achieved by the repetition of certain chosen words. The figures in the accompaniment reminds us that the moon has a surface. The performance time is about three and threquarters minutes.
