John Metz

I earned a Master’s Degree in Piano at Syracuse University and a DMA in Harpsichord from The Juilliard School. In 1980 I joined the music faculty at Arizona State University, where I built an early music program, taught harpsichord and performed in early music ensembles. In 1999 I became Artistic Director of the Connecticut Early Music Festival, after having performed on the festival every year since its inception in 1982. In 2004 I retired from Arizona State University, and settled in Waterford, CT, where I have the best piano students I could imagine, and where my wife and I raise wonderful veggies and go for walks with our dog.
