After education in Cheshire, I took my BA in Music and Latin at Birmingham University, studying composition with John Joubert and Ivor Keys. I have taught music in schools to A-level from 1988 to the present. I am a solo pianist working in both classical and jazz idioms but accompaniment is also very important in my life. I am also a church organist and play the viola and conduct and sing in three choirs.
As a composer my interests lie mainly in composition for piano (both solo and duet), organ, choir and voice. Current projects include a setting of poems by Penny Burns for choir and piano or orchestra titled "Shropshire Seasons" and "Ecce Ancilla Domini - Behold the Handmaiden of the Lord", an extended Christmas anthem, both commissioned by the Marches Community Choir, Shropshire UK. If you buy my music, I would welcome feedback by email.
