Babatunde Sosan

I'm 31yrs of age and am a qualified physiotherapist and also a concert pianist and organist.I started playing the piano at the age of 7 and am presently studying professionally at the Trinity college of Music Greenwich UK.I graduated as a physiotherapist in July 2000 from College of Medicine of the University of Lagos Nigeria.My musical influences include my Great grandfather,TKE Phillips(an acclaimed african composer who composed the popular Yoruba classics ''Ise Oluwa and Emi O Gbe oju mi so ke woni'') and my grandmother so basically I was brought up in a musical family.I won so many awards in Lagos from the musical society of Lagos(MUSON)where the highpoint of my musical career started when I scored the higest overall in the music school in nigeria for my Grade 8 Piano exams,distinctions and merits in practical and theory of music respectively.My initial influence was classical music but my main preference is Jazz music because I love connecting both together to find my own musical voice which I can say is a smooth blend of both styles. I have won 3 merit awards in my church, the Cathedral church of christ lagos alongside an Organ music certificate from st giles UK. Music to me is a language of life and a balance for the soul,All music came from God,but the devil polluted it and spread out various kinds of musical styles in the world today,but my main mission in this musical journey is to attain the highest ever possible achievement in the instrument and apply all what I have learnt from all these areas,e.g classical,cartoons,film music,jazz,contemporary,salsa etc,all to his name who gave me all I will ever need.
