The title of the air comes from the name of the county in Ireland. There are various thoughts as to the composer but it is not known for certain. The tune has been made most popular with the words Danny Boy written by English lawyer Frederick Edward Weatherly in 1910, and set to the tune in 1913. Here it is arranged for 4 cellos
