Clarinet Sonata 3>Mobius Strip
The 3rd movement of this Clarinet Sonata (Mobius Strip) is quite literally a Mobius strip. The music for both clarinet and piano was written on transparent paper, twisted once and joined head to tail. It was then started 12 bars from the real ending, and read until the same point had been reached on the strip. The clarinet part revolves around it’s untransposed middle line (concert B) whereas the piano, being 2 staves, revolves around its middle note (middle C). It ends a sonata dedicated to bizarre formal experiments.
