Uses: weddings, marriage themed services
Much wedding music is overly sentimental or lacking in any sense of the sacramentality of the married vocation. This piece, written for a guitar and drum group in a light rock style, sets out to remedy that gap. The poetry deals with the “Seasons of the Heart”, first young love, friendship and sexuality, then childbirth, homemaking and caring, then old age and the facing of eternity. The motif “To be Christ’s love for us…” may act as a refrain within the refrain, being repeated and intensified at the close of the piece.
