No, it’s not a spelling mistake: one n and two t’s is the German spelling of “Sonnet”. This particular sonnet, by an early 19th century poet called August von Platen, is a general whinge about the unfairness of life. OK, it’s a bit banal, but so is the tune I’ve written for it, so words & music go together better than they do in some of the songs I’ve written.
