The music of the Gabrieli’s have created some standard repertoire for Brass Quintet. This arrangement, originally by Andrea Gabrieli was arranged for the Centone (Chen-toney) Brass, the Brass Quintet of the Kitchener/Waterloo Symphony. This Canzona in particular is one of his shortest, but still has that traditional antiphonal effect to it. A lot of flourishes are present, and the range for the Horn in particular is rather large, which helps create the soloistic texture.
