An entertaining piano duet first performed by the two lovers, the Count and Lady Croom, during an amateur theatre production of Tom Stoppard’s "Arcadia" in 1999. At times accompanied by Mr Noake’s steam engine (hence the rhythm), the piano music became rapidly more passionate and broke off mid-phrase for an expressive, and telling, silence. Regardless of its history, this piece remains a joy to perform and its parts demand different skills from each musician.
