Home > Choir > Australia Our Land - SATB Choir and Piano

The words for this song were written as a poem by my late mother-in-law Olivia Morgan (94) about the love of her adopted country Australia. She originally came from her ancestral home in England when she was 14. She spent her early years in Australia on a cattle station. Many years later she wrote a poem. Olivia ask me to set her poem to music, which I did in 1990 in the style of an anthem. It has since been preformed by the local symphony orchestra and full choir. This setting is for SATB Choir and piano accompaniment and can be used with the orchestral arrangment. The MP3 file is a better representation of the sound of the arrangement without the words! Another MP3 live recording associated with the solo vocal version is sung my daughter Christine Neaves. (See associated scores) [This score has been revised and corrected slightly 8-09-2005]

Which method of viewing music should I use?

Score Exchange has two methods to display previews of music: seView which uses regular html and javascipt and the Scorch plug-in from Avid which needs to be downloaded and installed onto your computer. Both have advantages and disadvantages:

seView

seView, is the most compatible option. You should be able to view music on all modern web browsers including most mobile devices. Even if your device does not support javascript you should still be able to preview at least page one of the music.

You do not need to install any additional software to use seView.

Scorch

Scorch is a free plug-in from Avid for displaying and printing music. It can also play the music that you're seeing. As modern web browsers are updated, Scorch is no longer compatible with many browsers. Scorch has never been compatible with mobile devices and some web browsers on Mac computers.

If your web browser does not install Scorch automatically, you can click here to download and install scorch manually.
