Welcome to the world's shortest ceilidh, composed for brass band, featuring ye olde Englishe tunes:
Introduction: "Come and Play" - the band flexes its musical muscles with a bright jig as people gather before the dancing starts;
I. "Going up the Lane" - a lively step-hop with punchy articulation;
II. "Hidden in the Barley" - a slow waltz to ease dancers back in at the start of the second half;
III. "Old Arthur's Farmyard" - a lively jig to finish, with hen-pecking in the cornets.
This piece is scored for full brass band plus percussion of kit, glock & timpani. Please feel free to make additional copies as you have players.
(If you've made it this far, I should add that 'ye olde Englishe tunes' are all original compositions - you may have guessed already!)
