This baroque-style piece for flute and continuo is written out for flute and harpsichord, with an optional cello doubling the right hand of the keyboard. However, the continuo part could just as well be played on the piano, or the piece could be played as a duet for flute or oboe with cello or bassoon.
The inspiration behind this is the elegance of the cantabile of Tlemann's sonata in G for flute and continuo from Essercizii Musici.
Listen to the mp3 version to hear this with flute, harpsichord and cello (synthesised I'm afraid)
