The Organ Symphony was written in 1975 and was first performed by David Pettit at Bristol University the next year. It is in three movements and lasts almost exactly half an hour. The titles are: 1. Conflicts 2. Burlesque 3. Passacaglia di Fibonacci The finale makes use of a theme created out of the Fibonacci series which repeats forever after 24 notes. All the significant moments come at the exact point in the series, and the phrase lengths are also controlled in a similar way.
