This lighthearted piece, one of three, from the musical 'Suspicious Grief', is in contrast to the sober, monastic mood of the other pieces.
The music sets the scene with children playing in their grandmother's garden. They play chase and soon feast on the delicious soft fruit growing in abundance, much to the annoyance of their grandmother, who begins to chase them around the garden and finally clears them out. Peace and tranquility is restored.
The piece tries to emanate the rhythmic sounds of Irish music with the Sogo acting as a surrogate Bodhran (Irish rhythmic drum. Maybe Sibelius would import bodhran sounds as part of it sounds library in the near future?)
