This text first appeared in Thomas Ford's Music of Sundry Kinds in 1607. Although it has been set to music by other composers, I also felt a desire to add my own version. This was composed in 1997, and the setting is very relaxed and tranquil in style. It should always be performed in a warm and unhurried manner.
