String Quartet (1994) - III. Dance Chorale
This movement of String Quartet opens with a bold, decisive chorale figure. The second section is a dance with a strong celtic feel, once again based on the recurring idea of the interval of a fourth. This movement is an homage to Welsh composer William Mathias (1934-1992), my composition professor at university.
