Horn in F from Dorothy
"Dorothy" was written for a radio play that needed background music while an elderly character, Dorothy, explains to the story’s protagonists why it is impossible to leave her strange little town. My only instructions were to come up with a piece that sounded "old-fashioned". Since I love the music of the impressionists (Debussy and Ravel) I chose harp as a base instrument. "Dorothy" remains one time when I feel I hit a home run and actually captured what was in my mind.
