This is the first of about 60 songs arranged specially for a production of The Beggar's Opera in 1981,
Peachum, a receiver of stolen goods, it waiting for a visit from one of his henchmen.
The orchestration reflects the orchestra we used in the 1981 production, hence to two bassoons, one of which can be replaced by a cello.
