My name is Kelly Bennette. I am originally from Groves,Texas and now live in the Piney woods of Eastern Texas near Nacogdoches. I received my B.S. in music education from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. My principal instrument is tuba(I play a Yamaha YCB 661), and I played trombone(Conn 88H) and bass guitar(Peavey T-40) in the Lamar jazz band. I directed the Lamar 'B' Jazz Band for three years and played six years on the Lamar Faculty Quintet as well as nine years with the Beaumont Symphony Orchestra(Now known as the Symphony of Southeast Texas). I am now in my 21st year of teaching music in Texas public schools. I currently play in the Lufkin Community Band, the East Texas Symphonic Band, and when I can, I play with the Livingston Community Band.
