Charles Liu

Chinese-Canadian composer born in Hong Kong in 1982. His family immigrated to Canada when he was 6. His formal music training began on the violin at age 12, and in theory at age 15. In 1999, he had his first experience as a chamber and orchestral musican, and had also discovered the viola. He attended the University of Western Ontario from 2002 - 2006, graduating with a B.Mus Theory/Composition.

Past composition teachers: Alan Heard, Omar Daniel, Ronald Royer, David Myska, Kim Lundberg, and Peter Paul Koprowski.
