Dale is a high school choir director at Winnebago Lutheran Academy in Fond du Lac, WI, USA where he has served the Lord since 1993. He has been composing since his college years. His chief motivation to compose was his Theory and Composition professor from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, Prof. James Engel. Prof. Engel was called home to heaven while Dale was still in college. Dale graduated from DMLC in 1989 with a B.S. in Elementary Ed. and began to pursue a Masters in Church Music from Concordia University, River Forest, IL, which he recieved in 1997. There he studied composition with Richard Hillert, Walter Pelz, Frederick Frahm, and Dr. Jonathan Stahlke. Dale composes mainly church music–Lutheran liturgical music, Psalm settings, organ partitas, choral concertatos and anthems, and piano based hymn preludes. Recent commissions include a hymn concertato setting for orchestra, SATB choir, and congregation on "Let Children Hear the Mighty Deeds" (LASST UNS ALLE) for the 2011 WELS National Conference on Worship, Music, and the Arts, premiered at Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, MN.
