Joshua Devine is a Canadian-born composer and pianist working in Wheaton, IL, where he lives with his American wife, Rebekah. Joshua holds an M.M. in Music Composition from Temple University and a B.A. in Music Composition from Cairn University.
Joshua has played piano since he was seven. After hearing a digital piano play Schubert and Chopin, he devoted himself to practicing, determined to master those same pieces. Once he reached his goal, he continued to play piano and expand his knowledge of the classical repertoire, using his free time to writing his own music.
Joshua is active as a performer, accompanist, teacher and composer. He is fascinated by the music of Danish composer Per Nørgård, and recently presented a paper at the N_SEME symposium in Philadelphia that explored Nørgård's the early works. Joshua also studies music notation as a symbolic language and is developing a children's piano curriculum.
