Raquel Garcia (b. 1978). Cellist, composer and music teacher. Graduated in the Conservatorio Profesional of Salamanca, she has taken lessons from masters as Fedorchenko, Rostropovich, Motatu and others. She has recived speciality courses on cello, chamber music, composition, arrangements, improvisation, modern music, jazz and musical teaching. In the pop and rock music area, she was member as cello and electric bass player and composer of the art-rock group Landing Sky, nominated to the Radio Nacional de España-Radio 3 competition of non-professional recordings in 1998. She also played the electric bass in some concerts of the groups Onion and Edipo's Band, also located in Salamanca. In the classical music area, the orchestra of the Salamanca School of Music and other Salamanca classical groups has premiered her compositions and arrangements on stages as the Juan del Enzina Theater or the Torrente Ballester Public Library. Her orchestral and chamber music has been played too in Zaragoza, Madrid, London, Mexico D.F. and other cities. she was teacher of MODERN CELLO, Musical Languaje and other issues in the creative school of Music of madrid. spain.(www.musicacreativa.com) She has created , with the notorious Salamanca jazz pianist Chema Corvo, the Nexus Duo [www.geocities.com/nexusduoweb], a chamber group specialized in contemporary, jazz and film music.

As composer, her main influences are G.F. Haendel, J.S. Bach, Rimsky-Korsakov, Bela Bartok, Shostakovich, Duke Ellington, Led Zeppelin, Metallica,Guns´n roses , Philip Glass, John Adams or Luciano Berio ect…
