M.M. from Hartt School of Music in W.Hartford, CT, where I studied with Donald Harris. I studied with George Perle at Tanglewood. DMA from the Univeristy of Michigan where I studied with Leslie Bassett and William Bolcom. Awards include the Charles Ives Scholarship and a Goddard Leiberson Fellowship from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, a Meet the Composer Grant, The Nikos Skalkottas Fellowship for study at Tanglewood, The Holtkamp Prize for new organ music, and a prize from Marimolin for my work for violin and marimba, plus yearly ASCAP Standard Panel Awards. Have had two commissions from the Detroit Symphony. I recently had "The Queen of Air & Darkness" for orchestra released on MMC Recording 2099 "MMC New Century Vol. XV.
