PROFILE

Scott Brians focus has always been on percussion AND drum set. Scott has played for churches, musicals, rock bands, jazz big bands, marching bands, orchestras, jazz small groups, and percussion groups. The most notable of these were his group Different Strokes Percussion that toured and played in Taiwan, playing percussion for Steve Lawrence and Edie Gorme for their New Years show at Harrahs in Tahoe, CA, and playing with the jazz group the Jack Conway Trio. After getting his masters degree form the University of North Texas, Scott moved back to California and started working with many high schools in the bay area, creating percussion programs from scratch and putting on children's percussion concerts several times a year. His passion for music, both playing and teaching, brought him back to Sacramento where he now teachers at several high schools and at Cosumnes River College. He continues to play as much as possible and enjoys the challenge of being a performer and teacher in all avenues of music.

ADJUNCT FACULTY, COSUMNES RIVER COLLEGE - SACRAMENTO CA 2007 - 2010 Taught the Advanced Jazz Band and Introduction to MIDI. Also taught Beginning Piano and Beginning Jazz Band.
