I am a composer of memorable and beautiful music. I’m influenced by 20th century music but am more of a popular composer - I write catchy tunes where most contemporary composers cant. My new Piano Concerto was recently recorded by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra with the brilliant young Australian pianist Joseph Havlat conducted by David Watkin. It received an award from the Oppenheim-John Memorial Trust and was released in April 2023 on Novana Records. I have performed and recorded a number of albums. Musicweb International described my first CD of piano music as ‘kaleidoscopically varied works..engagement with melody..impressionistic atmosphere..jazzy syncopation..slowly burning passion’. In 2018 ‘3 Poems by Lorna Law’ were performed by Ferrier Award winning baritone Gareth Brynmor John in London. In 2017 my Violin Concerto had its orchestral premier in Scotland. As a pianist I perform my own music alongside classical music and specialize in jazz influenced music such as Gershwin and Ragtime. I champion the music of Dudley Moore.
