Stephen Tighe

Stephen Tighe, ARCM, LDBBA, (cert)PFS, is a freelance Musical Director, Conductor, Band Trainer, Composer and Arranger. He holds the Licentiate Diploma in Brass Band Adjudication (LDBBA) from Salford University.

He is a former professional Trombonist, having served in the British Army with the Regimental Band of the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards Band and played for many Orchestras both in the UK and Europe.

Stephen is a member of the Association of Brass Band Adjudicators(ABBA), and a British Federation of Brass Bands (BFBB) approved adjudicator for the National Brass Band Championships of GB.

He has conducted many top brass bands in the UK, including the Ever Ready Band, Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band, Wingates Band Kibworth Band, Dobcross Band, Holme Silver Band and the Kippax Band as well a guesting for many more. Winning many titles and competitions along the way.

These days he spends much time writing and arranging music for ensembles in the UK. He has written original music for the "Music For Youth" movement and his work has been performed at the Schools Proms in the Royal Albert Hall. He lives in Yorkshire, but is originally from West Cumbria.
