Tom Clarke gained a first-class honours degree in Jazz at the prestigious Leeds College of Music in 2007, majoring in composition and performance. He works as Senior Product Manager for Avid Scorch and Sibelius, the world's leading music notation software.
His debut big band composition Katy's Theme won the 2007 Conservatoires UK/PRS Foundation Creative Exchange Student Composer Award, and was acclaimed by composers including Issie Barratt and John Warren. Please click here for more information.
In the same year, Tom was also a recipient of Tim Garland's Northern Underground Orchestra Young Composer's Award. As part of this, his composition Nacirema People was performed on Tim's UK tour. This piece is included as one of the example scores in Sibelius 6 and Sibelius 7.
He is an active composer as well as a capable arranger and technically accomplished saxophonist and improviser. Tom lives in south west London where he also sings in an amateur choir, the South West London Choral Society.
