This arrangement is for three violas and a cello and reflects a bizarre need to feature viola players in a light-hearted charity concert. Charlie McCarthy, our Irish viola player was amazed to learn that the words to Danny Boy, probably the best known Irish song, were written by an Englishman. So I’m afraid it had to be, even though I had to slum it and play the third viola part myself.
Enjoy it and let me know if you find a reason for giving the second world performance :-)
