This EXPLOSIVE piece for descant recorder by Liam really captures the scene of an erupting volcano! Liam has used both triplet quavers and duplet quavers to create a really strong rhythmic theme. In the middle section he's used sequential repetition (repeating the same melodic material just a little bit higher) to build up the tension. And at the end, he's carefully marked the dynamics and accents to bring the piece to an explosive conclusion. Liam has successfully managed to imagine a dramatic scene and then paint a picture of it by writing his piece of music - excellent work! :)
