It was originally composed for the Burnley Youth Orchestra (UK), but has recently been revised for performance by the North Shore Youth Orchestra in New Zealand. Technically it is aimed at players of Grades 5 - 7 (ABRSM) and has enjoyed many successful performances by several orchestras in the UK and abroad. The cheerful rapid music of the opening is followed by a broader melody: in the coda these two themes combine.
